A Comprehensive Correction Method for Radiation Distortion of Multi-Strip Airborne Hyperspectral Images

Airborne hyperspectral imaging plays an increasingly important role in environmental monitoring. However, due to the limitations of acquisition conditions, there are uneven radiation and chromatic aberrations mosaic data. Accurate preprocessing original data is premise qualitative quantitative remote sensing. In this study, we proposed a comprehensive distortion correction method that integrates attenuation difference correction, topographic multi-strip images consistency adjustment (RA-TOC-CA). First, equation was constructed by combining viewing geometry, terrain, elevation between UAV ground eliminate pixels acquired at different instantaneous field view (IFOV). Second, improved kernel-driven BRDF model built terrain information illumination-viewing (flight attitude sensor IFOV) geometry unevenness caused topography. Third, adjusting reflectance according homonymous points’ adjacent strips should be equal, eliminating differences multiple strips. Based on airborne collected Shaanxi province China, results RA-TOC-CA were compared with those SCS+C Minnaert+SCS methods regarding various evaluation criteria. The showed can reduce effect but cannot edges images, overcorrects reflectance. weakened effects brightness gradient, which physically stable generalizable.
